The San Miguel Mas i Mas Festival, fills August nights with live music, offering a wide range of proposals of different genres: from jazz to electronics, through flamenco, soul, blues and Cuban music, between others. A meeting to enjoy concerts in large -and emblematic- stages of the city, but also to savor it in small-format venues, which is in fact where it sounds 365 days a year in the venues that Mas and Mas manages: Jamboree, Los Tarantos and Moog.

Between July 30 and August 31, the festival offered 92 proposals distributed in 7 spaces of the city, with more than 15,000 spectators.
The opening of the festival took place at the Coliseum Theater to the rhythm of black music, by I’m Soul Woman, a tribute to the great voices of soul history, and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, a torrential brass band from Chicago.
Names such as Charles McPherson, Jean Toussaint, Carla Cook and Perico Sambeat performed at Jamboree, coinciding with their participation in the jazz seminar organized by the Global Music Foundation in Barcelona. The cava of the Plaza Real was also a place to discover jazz, soul, funk or blues, with young talents from the country and the rest of the world, but also to listen to musicians with a long and fruitful career: Steffen Morrison , Sia Tolna, Janine Johnson, Ronald Baker and many others.

In Los Tarantos we enjoyed the art of the bailaora Olga Llorente, winner of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas 2019, who together with the dancers Ricardo Moro, Daniel Navarro and Marta Cañizares filled the tablao of the purest “Flamenco Essence” (name of the Show). The last three weeks we experienced the success of “El yiyo y company”, the dancer Miguel Fernández “El Yiyo”, accompanied by the bailaoras Rebeca Monasterio and Marina González, filled the venue with magic.
The Moog proposed the best electronics that can be heard in the city, with national and international artists: John Talabot, Thomas Schumacher, Jeroen Search, Victor Fernandez among others.
The Plaza Real, with 10 open-air concerts, the “Bar Glaciar”, with different jam sessions, and the San Miguel Terrace, within the framework of the Fiesta Mayor de Gracia, were the new stages of the event.
Although the festival is over, we continue with daily performances in our venues, and this 2020 we will offer a very special program at the Jamboree to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this emblematic space.
