MASiMAS Festival 2026 presents Brasil ’60s, the closing concert of the GMF Barcelona Jazz Workshop 2026, conceived as a collective celebration paying tribute to one of the brightest eras in popular music and jazz. Framed within the Global Music Foundation (GMF), this project revisits the creative spirit of the 1960s through an open, festive and deeply musical perspective, where jazz, Brazilian music, pop and groove coexist naturally.
The repertoire brings back iconic songs by composers and groups who defined an era, from the Brazilian sophistication of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sergio Mendes to the melodic revolution of The Beatles, among many others. More than a nostalgic recreation, the concert offers a vibrant reinterpretation of this songbook, designed for live performance, interaction and shared celebration. The music of the 1960s appears here as a universal language, filled with optimism, rhythm and creative freedom.
The ensemble brings together top-level musicians alongside the ensembles and choir of the GMF Barcelona Jazz Workshop 2026, forming a large collective orchestra that marks the culmination of an intense week of work, learning and concerts. Under the leadership of Francesco Petreni, with outstanding vocalists and an expansive rhythmic and harmonic section, the stage at Jamboree becomes a meeting point where professionals and young musicians share the spotlight, energy and emotion.
Why you shouldn’t miss it: because it’s the only concert where the spirit of the ’60s, the energy of the GMF and the joy of live performance come together in one great final celebration—unique, communal and contagious—leaving you with a smile and the music still resonating in your body.
The Global Music Foundation presents the GMF Barcelona Jazz Workshop 2026, a musical celebration combining jazz, blues, and Latin music in concerts, workshops, and late-night sessions with world-class artists.
